Written by Rav David Shofet
Q: What is the main body of halacha(laws) that should be studied by Persians?

Rav David: Nowadays, we have Rav Ovadia Yosef (left) who is the greatest Hacham of our day, amongst the Sepharadim as well as the Ashkenazim. He has his works compiled in the volumes of ‘Yalqut Yosef’, written by his son and supervised by the Rav himself. His writings are writen in very simple Hebrew, and I believe this is time for this collection to be translated into English for our community, and other Sephardic communities as well.

Some Iranians also follow the Ben Ish Hai, written by Rabeinu Yosef (right) in the late 19th century, a mystical halachist from Baghdad who bases his teachings heavily in the Holy Zohar and the Kabbalah.

Lets also remember the Kaf Hachaim. HaRav A. Natan Eli Shilita' follows him, in addition.
