Introducing the First Persian-Jewish Driving Instructor

Haji Hayim says: “Learn how to drive; until then I’ll stay off the curb”

Los Angeles- Moshe Saidian, or Moosa, as he is widely known, is the first [known] Persian-Jewish driving instructor, certified by the State of California, insured and bonded. His goal is to teach his students to drive safely, understand road procedures, and develop the skills needed to pass the driving test through his quality services.

This qualified instructor is patient, capable, supportive, and caring. One time I caught his face a little worried. He confessed to me that he felt uncomfortable when a parent of a student had requested that he should falsify the amount of hours completed by the student in order to get her driver’s license faster. I asked him why, since many instructors in Los Angeles do it anyways and it has almost become standard procedure.  He immediately replied, “No, I care about them; these are Jewish kids who are risking their lives and everyone else on the road when they drive. I want to make sure that they are doing everything properly.”

Mr. Dara Abaei, one of our top community leaders, testifies that just as “it is important to be selective of our physicians, we should also be selective of our driving instructors.” Most people don’t realize that a moving vehicle is potentially one of the most dangerous weapons [being that it is surrounded by fuel, electricity, metal, fire…etc.] and it should be stressed that every driver should be more careful on the road, and when learning to drive, careful with which driving instructor they choose to practice with. “Not only that,” Mr. Dara Abaei continues, “All too often we have heard horror stories of young ladies who felt that they have been harassed…they wasted their money on instructors who focused more on them than their actual driving. However, I recommend Moosa, and one can feel safely assured that he is trust-worthy and that he is a member of our community, of our culture. It is important that parents actually know who their children are dealing with and that they feel safe with the instructor.”

Moosa has had students from a wide variety of schools, from religious and public schools alike, such as Beverly High and Bais Yaakov High School for girls. One previous student comments, “What I really liked about this instructor is that he made me feel like I’m in charge. He allowed me to practice what I felt I needed most…I felt more confident after practicing with him.” (O.S.S.) After all, Moosa’s motto is: “With you all the way.”

Moshe/Moosa offers home/school/work pick-up, as well as special teenage-rates.
