It seems as though; we at PersianRabbi.com are constantly discussing the negative aspects of our community... Whether it is Weddings Made For the Guests, What's Wrong With Being Black?, Hypocrisy in Our Community and others.

Well here is your chance to speak out about some of the things that our community should be praised for. It is well known that, as a whole, we have been very successful in our academic and financial endeavors, but what else? Respond below with your thoughts...

Your thoughts:

I am very encouraged by the richness of our tradition that we have held on to so far. Regardless of religious observance I feel that for most, being "Jewish" is there main identity. I would also say that we have an amazing respect the importance for family in our lives. Although there are those that are rapidly loosing traces of a Jewish Identity, I believe we, as a whole, are very strong.

I would also like to add that we are one of the most philanthropic minorities in America. I was once speaking to an Israeli Consulate Staff Member and he was astonished by the Iranian Jewish Community and how much they give to charitable causes.

one thing i admire about our community is our willingness to give and our hospitality towards others. one time a friend of mine came over my house and my father brought over a tray of all types of drinks and snacks, which he had prepared from scratch. my non-persian friend looked at me in astonishment and asked: 'what's next? banana juice??'

I believe that it is our respect for our religious leaders that impresses me the most. True, I may have a slight bias, but I have observed Jews in different communities, and the respect that many Persian Jews give to their rabbis is something you don't always see in other communities.
