We are happy to announce the engagement of Yechezkel Bob Refua and Liora Shofet. Both Bobby and Liora have been involved with successs of PersianRabbi.com, and their match is especially sweet for our other staff members.

Yechezkel currently owns and operates a logistic/transportation company and is a professional ping pong player, having received recognition both here in Los Angeles and in Iran for his amazing ability. He is also an avid inventor, trying to solve everyday problems for society. He has recently been awarded his first patent by the United States Patent and Trademark Office. On top of all this, he teaches one of the most successful Talmud courses at the the Los Angeles Iranian Kollel.

Liora graduated from University of California, Los Angeles where she majored in psychobiology and was heavily involved in Persian Jewish student activities. She is currently a science teacher at two Orthodox Jewish high schools and is a senior editor for PersianRabbi.com. Liora's family's lineage is full of great Hachamim of the past including, her grandfather Hacham Yedidia Shofet ZT"L, Former Chief Rabbi of Iran and other great Hachamim before him. Her father, HaRav David Shofet, is currently the spiritual leader of many of the Persian Jews of Los Angeles as well as the Rav of Nessah Synagogue in Beverly Hills.

The PersianRabbi.com staff would like to express great joy on the news of their match. May their commitment to Torah values be a merit for a life full of peace and happiness together!

Congratulations to Liora and Bobby, two exemplary Persian Jews. For our beloved Rav David, there couldn’t be a better son-in-law, and what a blessing for our community at large.

I was always impressed by Liora’s consistent class attendance and by her diligent note taking of Jubin Meraj’s weekly classes when she would come after a full day of classes at UCLA, perhaps due to her own gained insight she merited such a fine learned groom.

May they continue to be a Light for our younger generation: who balance their spiritual ascension, religious knowledge and practices with their professional and family growth.

We wish them to become grandparents to many pious observant Jews.-just as all our grandparents were.

Bob, Liora, I am speechless, Mazal Tov…Hold on while I get a tissue and wipe my tears of joy : ) ……. Liora, I don’t know you but you must indeed be someone very special to have found someone who dresses as sharp and has such an impressive opera voice! Bob, my man, this really counts among some of the best news I have got all year. : ) May you two be zocheh to build a bayit neeman together and may Hashem yimaleh kol mishalot libechem letovah. May you always only bask in the warmth of each other’s smile, take on life’s challenges as one. Darn it, the tissue is soaked; I have to go wash my face.
