 The question of the existence of anti-Semitism in Iran is a very complex one. One can see that there are very few restrictions imposed on Jews in present day Iran with regard to the practice of Judaism;
Jews are relatively free to establish schools and organization as well disseminate publications.
(See Jews in the Islamic Republic of Iran) although Iranian Jews are institutionally and publicly persecuted in pursuing some occupations, overall life is no more restricted than their fellow Muslim counterparts.

With that said, anti-Semitic discourse can be seen bubbling in national broadcasts, where supposed professors, ministers, and Islamic leaders spread blatant lies and baseless claims against world Jewry and their Zionist agenda.

With the advent of the information age and the ability to store massive amounts of data and distribute it internationally with a click of a button, one organization, The Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI), has taken on the remarkable task and record Middle-Eastern media outlets including those in the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Below you will find three particular government approved broadcasts that show anti-Semitic discourse in Iranian Television:

Tom and Jerry - A Jewish Conspiracy to Improve the Image of Mice, because Jews Were Termed "Dirty Mice" in Europe
Iran, Channel 4

The Jews Killed Children and Used Their Blood for Passover

IRIB/Jaam-E-Jam2

Zionists Paid Denmark Cartoonist to Draw Muhammad Cartoon

Iran Channel 1

Now one can understand why so many Iranian Jews in California and New York attended meetings of the Jewish Dfense Organization about situation re potential danger for Jews in Iran.I saw pictures at this huge meeting
by the JDO in hich many Iranian Jews train in the JDO'S gun classes, security training, (legal) because we all feel truly threatned as Jews by the ' Al Queda ' crowd.

At the speech I attended a large number of Persian Jews stood physical guard while
JDO head Mordchai Levy spoke. The room where he spoke was filled with many Persian Jews.

On the JDO website is pictures of Iranian Jews doing both kickboxing, and gun trianing with JDO.

Eman, this is already 27 years going on there. Everybody knows it, you can read it in the airport or public place 'Marg bar Israel', and that is shown in TV for a long time ago too............ If you didnt know that you ve never visited Iran. there is everyday discrimination on TV, but did you know jews have a seat in parliament, jews can 'vote' in Iran and can study, but other groups can not. i am just tired about antisemitism. I know what I really hate about Iran, but I want to read what I should love about Iran. I love our persian history and i am proud Cyrus was the only king that let jews practise jewish life, i am proud about Bahaism and i am proud about a lot persians. This site should bring up articles like this cause I fed up by western media showing our country like this, we shouldnt do IT !

Nina,

The fact is that the Iranian government claims to harbor no hate against the Jewish people. These 3 videos show otherwise and are presented soley to show what kind of anti-Semetic crap they allow on Iranian T.V.

Some days ago I read it is not allowed to touch a jew for Shia Muslims. Jews are writing a lot about who 'hates' them instead notize persian groups who like to be in contact with persian jews: Bahais, Zoroasterians, Armenians.... a lot of groups 'feel alone' among Iranians, too. I am tired of reading about Antisemitism, Anti...this, Anti...that. We should remind ourselves that there a lot of groups who suffer more than we do!! We have to remember that there were a lot of intermarriages in Persia, too and that of Persians were proud to be married with a Jew! A lot of people love Jews. Its our problem to feel inferior and being offended by some Idiotes easily.

You don't need to go to Iran to hear people say that zionists were behind the Danish cartoons. You can just go to good old UCI and hear that from the 'peace loving' muslims.
